A Hundred Ravens is fortunate enough to collaborate with some truly wonderful designers who make the loveliest things in our yarn.
Remily Knits
Our house designer, Rachel Molenaar of Remily Knits, is a blindingly talented designer and former contestant on the Fiber Factor. She has designed several collections featuring A Hundred Raven’s yarns. Rachel lives near Boston, MA. She loves New England’s temperamental weather and making soft, warm, hand-knit items useful (nearly) year-round. Constantly on the go, she finds time for knitting and designing by squeezing it in wherever it will fit: she’s been seen knitting at soccer fields, dog agility trials, and in line at the water park.
Raven Knits Design
The first designer to work in A Hundred Ravens yarns, Mindy Dykeman’s, designs have to be seen to be believed. Mindy draws inspiration from nature, offering innovative takes on old project shapes and intricate, thoughtful patterns. Mindy usually has five projects going at any time and says she doesn’t know how to work on only one thing any more; thinking about knitting constantly and passionately. Heidi Nick
For socks no one can beat Heidi Nick, who designed the Rose Tyler sock for our Rose Tyler colorway, and Flaming June for our Flaming June as well and many others. She has designed countless fabulous socks for our yarn and we can’t wait to see more. Heidi runs a monthly KAL that is so much fun and motivation.
Minuet Crochet and Knit
Our other favorite Mindy is designer Mindy Abodeely of Minuet Crochet and Knit. Her designs are thoughtful, innovative and beautiful. Mindy has been crocheting since she was about 12 years old. She discovered “real” yarn when a LYS opened in 2012 and was immediately got hooked. She has not looked back since and her designs are a testament to her passion.
Heather Anderson
Heather has designed some amazing patterns for us! Her shawls, hats, and cowls have the perfect balance of simplicity and detail. This not only makes them great things to make, but great things to wear as well! Heather was inspired to begin knitting when her daughter received a hand knit hat from a volunteer as a baby. That was in 2006, and now she has over 70 designs available!
KnittyMelissa
Melissa is well known for her sock patterns. Each of them unique and individual. There are cables, lace, faire isle patterns, and more! Both her “Vermont Maple Shawl” and her “Cable Chase Socks” are perfect for many of our yarns! Melissa has been designing since 2014.
