This kit includes two skeins of Iachos in Smoke, and an Iachos Mini Skein set in “The Resolute Lady of Bear Island”, and a copy of the “Mormont” shawl pattern.
This design was inspired by the gorgeous colorway dyed by A Hundred Ravens and named for a certain Game of Thrones character. Like her, mini skeins are small but mighty! Unlike a gradient skein, minis allow the knitter to control when and where the color changes. This design makes full use of this ability to create a stepped pattern that evokes stained glass.
Each block of contrast color uses about 50 yards of fingering-weight yarn (350 yards total). Colorful gradient minis are perfect.
Mormont is worked seamlessly along the short edge, using intarsia techniques throughout.
